Strong characters and a
heart for nature

Although we always knew deep down what our calling was, it took us a while to have the courage to follow it. It was easier for Claudia and Grandma Traudl; they had quickly accepted their destiny and joined the hotel business. But Hedwig and her daughter, Nadja, had many other plans they wanted to realise before following their hearts. Claudia had always wanted to work with people who were on holiday rather than when they were stressed-out. With her power of persuasion and cheeky charm, she finally managed to bring her mum Hedwig back from the yoga mat and Nadja back from Dublin to her homeland of South Tyrol. The condition: They wanted to create an extraordinary hotel in San Genesio/Jenesien that was dedicated to a worthy cause. They came together and tried to find out if there was something they were really passionate about, so much so that they wanted to dedicate their lives to it. And so it came about that with around three simple questions, an extraordinary concept developed, and the Hotel Saltus was born. Their driven characters came up with a philosophy that the hotelier family and their fantastic team now wholeheartedly embody – in a hotel that wants to set new standards for the sake of nature, San Genesio/Jenesien, and South Tyrol.
